JOINING the likes of Joan Smalls, Arizona Muse and the recently-appointed Kendall Jenner, British model and actress Gabriella Wilde has been signed up as the newest face of Estée Lauder. Spotted by Naomi Campbell aged 14, Wilde is a descendant of Charles II (her full name is the rather impressive Gabriella Zanna Vanessa Anstruther-Gough-Calthorpe).
“I am so excited to follow in the footsteps of so many incredible women who have represented Estée Lauder,” she said. “They all inspired me and now I hope to inspire others.”
As well as an acting career that has seen her star alongside the likes of Colin Firth, Orlando Bloom and Julianne Moore, Wilde has previously modelled for Burberry, Lacoste, Topshop and Abercrombie and Fitch.
“Gabriella is a timeless beauty, a talented actress and an accomplished artist – the perfect new face to reflect the modern image and values of Estée Lauder,” said Richard Ferretti, senior vice president and global creative director for Estée Lauder.
With last year’s projects having included getting married to musician Alan Pownall and giving birth to their son Sasha, Wilde’s first campaign for Estée Lauder will be for Crescent White skincare, launching in March.
I’ve no idea how it happened but the sidebar disappeared! I’m so sorry. I hope I can fix this really soon.
As studios wind down before the holidays, Disney is looking to lock up someone for the last major role in its next installment of the “Pirates of the Caribbean” franchise starring Johnny Depp.
Sources tell Variety that Disney is looking to test a handful of actresses over the next week for the female lead of the action-adventure. Some of the actresses on the list include “Miss Potter’s” Lucy Boynton, “Endless Love’s” Gabriella Wilde, Jenna Thiam, “Maze Runner’s” Kaya Scodelario and Alexandra Dowling of “The Musketeers.”
Details on the role are vague other than she would likely be a love interest to Brenton Thwaites, who recently won the role of a British soldier who teams with Depp’s Jack Sparrow. The studio wanted to wait to make sure that role was sealed up before testing actresses, and now that Thwaites is on board, the studio will do chemistry tests with Thwaites and the actresses to see who best fits the role.
Javier Bardem is also on board to play the villain, with Joachim Ronning and Espen Sandberg directing. Jerry Bruckheimer is producing.
Production begins in the first quarter of next year with plans to release the pic on July 7, 2017.
Gabriella is featured in the Autumn/Winter issue of AnOther Magazine. There’s no interview just pictures. You can check them out in our gallery.
